Simon Trpceski for the first time with a big New Year’s concert in Skopje – He announced a different spectacle that is specially created for the Macedonian audience.

On December 20, 2024, Simon Trpceski, Macedonia’s renowned piano virtuoso, will hold his first-ever big New Year’s concert at the Boris Trajkovski Arena in Skopje. This special event promises to be a unique spectacle, specially created for the Macedonian audience.

At a press conference today, Trpceski revealed the exciting details of the concert, which will differ from his international performances. The concert will be divided into two parts. The first part will feature several classical works, accompanied by a visual performance from the firsts of the Macedonian Opera and Ballet. Trpceski will showcase a four-hand performance of The Nutcracker suite by Tchaikovsky, a rare format rarely performed, alongside Shkelzen Baftijari, a former student and talented pianist. They will be joined by the Macedonian Opera and Ballet, directed by Kire Pavlov, with ballet students Marija Kichevska and Boban Kovachevski, and the ballet ensemble.

In the second part, Trpceski will perform New Year’s hits from icons such as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Mariah Carey, and Michael Bublé, with adaptations by Macedonian composer Pavel Shakhov. These pieces will be presented in a new light, blending pop music with classical works by Mozart, Verdi, and Strauss.

Trpceski expressed his excitement, stating that this concert fulfills a long-standing wish. He also teased surprises related to Macedonian songs and culture, with guest appearances from opera singers Gonca Bogoromova Krapovska (soprano) and Ivan Naumovski (baritone).

Trpceski also shared a personal note, revealing that his dream of performing in North Korea and South Africa remains unfulfilled, and that only the prestigious Santa Cecilia Hall in Rome is a major stage he has yet to perform on, though he remains optimistic about future opportunities.

Tickets for the concert, organized by Pragma Production, are already on sale and can be purchased through www.kupikarta.mk, as well as at Roze Vero 2 and JK Travel in Biser. According to the organizer, ticket sales are going well.
