“Krap’s Last Tape” is a poignant play about a lonely man, disconnected from the world, who spends his 69th birthday listening to old recordings. Among the tapes, one holds particular significance: Box Three – Reel Five, featuring a recording of a much younger Krap, made 30 years ago. In this recording, he reflects on distant but pivotal moments from his youthful past — lost love, the death of his mother, unfulfilled dreams, and a failed career.
The older Krap, now listening to the tape, has a complex and ambivalent reaction to what he hears. This play explores themes of isolation, aging, the fragility of memory, and our evolving relationship with technology in a world where time moves relentlessly forward.
The production is directed by Gjorgji Jolevski in co-production with the Macedonian National Theatre and Peripetija Production. The executive producer is Nikola Kimovski.
