🎬 “Stella” – The First Macedonian Film for Children Joins Educational Programs in Sweden for Learning Macedonian Language and Culture 🇲🇰📚

We are proud to share that the Macedonian feature film “Stella”, which has garnered significant attention on the international stage, is now part of educational programs in Sweden. This recognition is an important milestone for Macedonian cinema, as the film will serve as a tool for learning the Macedonian language and exploring the culture and nature of Macedonia.

🌍 About the Film:
“Stella” tells the heartfelt story of Nikola, a young boy who, alongside his grandfather and their dog Stella, faces challenges such as bullying and family difficulties. The film goes beyond storytelling—Stella symbolizes love, courage, and mutual support, connecting generations with its warmth and authenticity.

The film’s visual and emotional depth makes it an ideal educational resource, enhancing the learning process and inspiring creativity and critical thinking in students.

🎬 Educational Impact:
Initiated by professors Pavlina Veljanoska and Teresa Shalevska-Mircheva, the film has been integrated into Swedish educational centers to promote not only the Macedonian language but also raise awareness on peer violence, encourage empathy, and help students explore cultural and social aspects of Macedonia.

Pavlina Veljanoska shared her thoughts on the importance of the film:
“Film, as a medium, is a powerful tool that makes the learning process more interesting, inspires creative writing, and develops critical thinking. Our goal is for the film ‘Stella’ to raise awareness among students about the issue of peer violence, foster empathy, and allow them to explore cultural aspects of their mother tongue, enriching their vocabulary and learning about the beauty of Macedonia.”

🎥 Production:
“Stella” is Macedonia’s first green production, created in collaboration with Dream Factory (Macedonia), Akcija Production (Serbia), and Mouna (Germany), with support from the Film Agency of Macedonia, Film Center Serbia, and Film Fund Baden-Württemberg in Germany.

Directed by Stojan Vujičić and produced by Ognjen Antov, the film bridges Macedonia and the world, offering an opportunity to explore the language, culture, and values of our country.

🏆 Since its premiere, “Stella” has won awards and recognition at film festivals across Europe. With this new collaboration with Swedish educational institutions, the film continues to inspire and connect young generations with Macedonian culture.

Let’s continue to celebrate this great achievement as “Stella” helps create a bridge between cultures, fostering understanding and knowledge across borders! 🌍🎥
