Opening of Danko Friščić’s Solo Exhibition at the National Galery

Solo exhibition “PAINTGOIDS – METALAGALACTIC” by Croatian artist and full professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, Danko Friščić. The exhibition will be held on December 12th (Thursday), starting at 8 pm at the Multimedia Center Mala Stanica at the National Gallery of Macedonia.

This exhibition marks Danko Friščić’s first presentation in our country and is a significant step in deepening the cultural cooperation between Croatia and Macedonia. As a curator, it has been both a challenge and an honor to bring his visionary work to life in our exhibition space.

About the Exhibition:

Friščić’s works from the “SLYX” cycle take us on a journey into cosmic fantasy, filled with irony and a touch of fun. His expressive and dynamic paintings are filled with contrasts, drawing from the aesthetics of grotesque and avant-garde expressionism. The large human figures and poetic metaphors create a surreal atmosphere that explores instability and chaos, leading us into a hallucinatory, yet deeply expressive, reality.

The exhibition invites us into the world of metalagalactic imagination, where the boundaries between form and fantasy dissolve, and new expressions of rhythm, color, and emotional meaning emerge.

About the Artist: Danko Friščić comes from a prominent artistic family. His father, the renowned artist Ivo Friščić, is also represented in the National Gallery of Macedonia’s collection. As Danko shared in an interview: “Speed is our similarity and at the same time our difference.”

We look forward to welcoming you to this unique exhibition, celebrating both artistry and the deep connection between our two nations.
