A modern interpretation of the contradiction between love and gambling.
Tchaikovsky’s most beautiful opera “Pique Dame” is an intense psychological drama and a shocking social tragedy in which a poor, ordinary man like the protagonist Herman has no right to love in the rich world.
A person divided into two, torn between two passions: the impossible love for Lisa and the passion for gambling. Tchaikovsky himself is part of each of his images. Silhouettes of his complex and very suffering character are found in each of his characters.
