International Conference at the Archaeological Museum – Celebrating 100 Years of Excellence

From today until Wednesday, the Archaeological Museum of Skopje will host a significant international conference to mark the 100th anniversary of its founding. Over 60 archaeologists from Macedonia and abroad will participate, sharing their insights and research.

The conference began this morning at 10:00 AM with a welcoming speech by the museum’s director, Slavica Babamova. Following her, Eleonora Petrova highlighted the museum’s contribution to the development of museology in Macedonia. At 10:30 AM, Daniela Helman and Aleksandra Papazovska presented on 100 years of archaeological research in the country.

The event will continue for two more days, featuring presentations and panel discussions, covering key topics in archaeology. On Wednesday, attendees will have a unique opportunity to visit the Neolithic settlement of Tumba Madžari near Skopje.

This conference underscores the Archaeological Museum’s critical role in preserving Macedonia’s cultural heritage and its position as a leading center for scientific research and knowledge exchange.
