Today, Mayor Danela Arsovska inaugurated the “Days of Mother Teresa” event, marking a significant cultural offering in the city leading up to Skopje’s candidacy as the European Capital of Culture in 2028. As part of this event, an exhibition featuring mosaics centered around the theme “Mother Teresa – from Skopje to Calcutta” was unveiled at the Memorial House of Mother Teresa on Macedonia Street. The exhibition is curated by Izet Zeqiri, the rector of the University “Mother Teresa” in Skopje.
Mayor Arsovska emphasized the enduring significance of Mother Teresa’s humanitarian endeavors and her messages of love, peace, and solidarity. She underscored that these values should serve as constant inspiration for all of us, emphasizing the importance of compassion and care for those in need as a daily motivation and top priority.
The “Days of Mother Teresa” events are organized to coincide with the canonization of Mother Teresa as a saint and will run from August 25 to September 5 at the Memorial House of Mother Teresa.
